Gorgeous inside and out, Helen is a show jumper and unfortunately got kicked in the face by her horse 3 days before her wedding - resulting in a very sore black eye! She has kindly allowed me to post some before and after photos of the camouflage makeup I did on the wedding morning. I used to volunteer for the Changing Faces Charity as a skin camouflage practitioner, helping people to cover their scars and other conditions and then teaching them to do it themselves so this was a challenge I was up for!

Helen’s black eye was showing in a mixture of different bruise colours, some green-yellow, some purple and some black. I had to use around 12 different skin tones from my corrective palette to conceal it. Once the black eye was covered, the eyeshadow on each eye presented differently due to the undertones of the makeup so I had to use different eyeshadow colours on each eye to make the whole look balanced.

Ironically Helen was my most chilled bride ever. An inspiration for how to handle things when life gives you lemons!
